Have been wanting to try this other ramen establishment for quite a while now. I’ve already tried Keisuke’s other 2 outlets. My sister went when it first opened but she did not like it much, she really prefers pork based broths though. My personal take, since everyone’s tastes are pretty different, I probably won’t be back on my own volition.
My subjective rating: 3 / 5
However, its still worth uploading the pictures and commenting a bit here and there, just because some reader out there may actually like it or be adventurous enough to explore.
There were 2 of us, so we decided to try the original broth ramen and the spicy black ramen. We skipped the green spicy ramen (wasabe) tonight, we were too full from some amazing home-cooked tea time snacks.
Both the broths were rich and thick, I found the Spicy Black broth to have a really strong chicken flavour, which I think some will like. Drop a dash of Katsuobushi or Bonito powder in your broth and it changes the flavour. The ramen tamagos/eggs were good as expected of any self-respecting Japanese ramen chef.
I really dig the interior and decor of this branch since it reminds me of a traditional ramen spot anywhere in Japan. Some have taken a more commercial appeal since their move to Singapore, which kind of takes away the rustic appeal from your ramen dining experience.
Like the other 2 Keisuke outlets, they had their signature spicy bean sprouts, free flow of hard boiled eggs and a grind your own bowl of toasted sesame seeds/powder. This one also had its own special blend of chilli sauce (not spicy at all) to go with the grilled chicken.
